Q and A with Hornet of the Week Kiley Trennepohl

The Lynchburg College athletic department each week showcases a question and answer feature with our Hornet of the Week. The ninth student-athlete selected this year is women's cross country senior Kiley Trennepohl.

Kiley had a great weekend at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship meet.  She earned First-Team All-ODAC honors after placing a career-best seventh at the meet.  Her time of 24:13 was also the top finish for the Hornets and helped them climb to third in the conference.

What do you like most about LC cross country?

The thing I like most about Lynchburg Cross Country is the team. You spend at least 2 hours a day and most weekends with your teammates and they become like a family to you.

How has being a member of the cross country and track team helped you throughout college?

It has helped me to stay focused, work hard, and prioritize my time. It has taught me to set goals and work towards them and it has taught me that hard work pays off.

What was it like to have your best finish at the ODAC meet as a senior?

It was exciting, encouraging and rewarding. We have been working hard as a team towards this all season and it was exciting that everyone ran amazing and that we placed higher as a team than anyone expected. Personally it was a nice way to finish off four years of running.

Why did you choose Lynchburg College?

It reminded me a lot of my high school and the campus is beautiful.
