Aricquel Payne Earns Second-Team VB All-ODAC Honors

LYNCHBURG, VA – Lynchburg College junior Aricquel Payne earned second-team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) honors Tuesday as 21 student-athletes were recognized.

Washington and Lee University senior outside hitter M.A. Boles was tabbed the ODAC Player of the Year for the second time. Generals' mentor Bryan Snyder was named the ODAC Coach of the Year, while Emory & Henry College outside hitter Tristen Pennington earned ODAC Rookie of the Year accolades. Virginia Wesleyan College senior Tempe Martens was selected as the ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the league's sports information directors.

Payne, a first-team All-ODAC honoree the last two seasons, led LC to a 14-13 record and a second-place finish in the conference tournament this year. She led the team with 218 kills, and also contributed 216 digs, second on the squad. Payne also had 45 blocks and 21 service aces.

For her three-year career thus far, Payne has 854 kills and 755 digs.
