Hornet Volleyball Advances in ODAC Quarterfinals with 3-0 Victory over E&H

LYNCHBURG, VA – The third-seeded Lynchburg College volleyball team defeated #6 Emory & Henry College 25-18, 25-21, 25-19 in the first-round of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament Wednesday evening. The undermanned Hornets only used a seven player rotation due to injury.

Five LC players had more than five kills on the evening for a balanced offensive attack.  Freshman Jennifer Garrett blasted a game-high nine kills, while Sierra Strathy posted eight kills, six digs and three blocks. Amanda Perry had seven kills, while Aricquel Payne and Brittany Crawford tallied six and five kills, respectively.

Gabby Myers tallied game-highs of 30 assists and six service aces and also added nine digs. Sam Page had 15 digs while Amanda Perry added 10.

Kennady Thomason had a team-high eight kills for E&H (15-13). Maleah Neely had 23 assists and Kelly Mae Kerlin had 19 digs.   

The Hornets will face seventh-seeded Bridgewater College Saturday in the semifinals of the ODAC Tournament at #1 seed W&L at a time to be determined. The Eagles upset #2 Randolph-Macon in five sets this evening.
