Hornet Volleyball Finishes Emory University Tournament

ATLANTA, GA – The Lynchburg College volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Saturday to nationally recognized opponents at the Emory University Tournament. Junior Aricquel Payne was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Randolph-Macon College, a team that received votes in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III national rankings, defeated LC 25-11, 25-19, 22-25, 25-10 in a non-conference action. Jennifer Garrett delivered nine kills, while Payne had seven and six digs. Gabby Myers and Mackenzie Ross had 16 and 13 assists, respectively and Sam Page had 10 digs.

Emory, the fourth-ranked team in the AVCA poll this week, scored a 25-17, 25-16, 25-18 victory over the Hornets. Payne slammed nine kills with five digs, while Myers has 23 assists and five digs. Page contributed 13 digs and Ross had eight. Jessica Holler had 11 kills and four blocks for Emory (17-1).

Lynchburg (6-11) returns to Old Dominion Athletic Conference play Wednesday, with a road match at Bridgewater College at 7 p.m.
