Hornet Volleyball Wins Three at JHU Tournament


BALTIMORE, MD - The Lynchburg College volleyball team scored three victories in four matches this weekend at the Johns Hopkins University Greg Giovanazzi Memorial Tournament. LC won two matches Friday and one of two Saturday.

The Hornets posted their third-straight victory with a 25-16, 25-18, 25-13 win over Goucher College (MD) in the first match. Sierra Strathy had 13 kills and no errors in 18 attempts for LC, while Jennifer Garrett had nine kills. Gabby Myers had 23 assists and seven service aces and Mackenzie Ross had 10 assists. Sam Page contributed with 10 digs and Amanda Perry posted eight.

Johns Hopkins defeated LC 25-10, 26-24, 25-18 in LC's last match of the tournament. Strathy had five kills, Myers had nine assists while Page had 12 digs. Meagan Donohoe had 15 kills for JHU.

Strathy was named to the All-Tournament Team. Stevenson University took home the team title with a 4-0 record.

The Hornets (3-5) travel to Randolph-Macon College Wednesday evening for an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match.
