Payne and Loftis Honored by ODAC

LYNCHBURG, VA –The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released the All-ODAC teams on Monday and two Hornets, Aricquel Payne and Rebecca Loftis found themselves among those honored for their performances on the season.

Payne, a sophomore outside hitter, was named First Team All-ODAC while Loftis was named to the Second Team.

Payne ended the season with the team lead in kills with 370, good for third in the conference in that category. She also had 21 service aces and was second on the team with 327 digs.

Loftis had one of the most efficient seasons of her career. She had the highest hitting percentage in the ODAC with a .361 mark. The senior also added the second highest kill total on the team and a career-high for a season with 285. She was also second on the team with 67 total blocks to anchor the front line.

The Lynchburg College volleyball team wrapped up one of its best seasons in recent memory, posting the most wins (24) for the program since the 1981 season before falling in the ODAC Championship last week.
