LC Volleyball Scores Big Win Over Bridgewater

LYNCHBURG, VA –The Lynchburg College volleyball team picked up a big win Saturday over Bridgewater College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play 23-25, 25-18, 26-24, 25-15.

The win moves Lynchburg closer to the top of the pack in the ODAC standings as the Hornets are now half a game behind Bridgewater.

Sophomore Aricquel Payne led the Hornets with 14 kills. She also had ten digs to go along with ten from sophomore Brittany Crawford and senior Molly Deacon.

Lynchburg had a big advantage when serving the ball. The Hornets had 14 service aces to one from the Eagles. Crawford and Deacon each had four.

Seniors Rachel Turk and Brooke Moughon had 20 and 19 assists respectively to help push the Hornets to the big win on Homecoming Weekend. Payne and senior Rebecca Loftis kept the Eagle attack at bay with four blocks each.

Bethany Doman had 16 kills for Bridgewater (16-12/8-2). Lindsay Kallam had a game-high 36 assists.

Lynchburg (20-6/8-3) finish off the weekend with a game Sunday against Catholic University at 1 p.m.
