Hornet Volleyball Battles to Four-Game Loss

LYNCHBURG, VA – Lynchburg College volleyball fought hard, winning the second game against Randolph-Macon before falling 25-21, 18-25, 25-23, 29-27 to the top team in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC).

The Hornets had all the momentum going into the third game after capturing the second 25-18. LC scored the first four points in the third game forcing Randolph-Macon to call a timeout. The Yellow Jackets would go on a run to take a 7-5 advantage before Lynchburg fought down to the end.

Sophomore Aricquel Payne led the Hornets with 16 kills while fellow sophomore Brittany Crawford added 12. Senior Rachel Turk added a game-high 39 assists. Freshman Sierra Strathy had a team-high seven assists.

Courtney Lowers led the Yellow Jackets (15-3/7-0 ODAC) in kills with 15. Riley Martin had 26 assists.

Lynchburg (16-6/5-3 ODAC) plays host to Southern Virginia on Saturday, October 13. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
