Hornets Sweep Fighting Squirrels

STAUNTON, VA – The Lynchburg College volleyball team beat Mary Baldwin College 25-12, 25-12, and 25-10 on Thursday night.    LC took three straight sets over MBC for the second time this season, with the first one coming in the LC Invitational earlier this year.

Brittany Crawford paced the Hornets in a solid all-around night.  She led the team in kills and digs with 10 and 11 respectively.  Rebecca Loftis was second on the team with seven kills, hitting at a .643 percentage.

Rachel Turk and Brooke Moughon shared the setter duties for Lynchburg.  Turk assisted on 17 kills, with Moughon finishing with 10 assists on the night.  Turk had a successful defensive day as well, registering 10 digs on the night.

Kharla Bethea led the Fighting Squirrels (0-8 overall) with seven kills on the night.

Lynchburg (10-4) will continue on its three game road trip next week, as they travel to Guilford College on Wednesday.  The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) matchup will begin at 7 p.m.
