Hornets Compete at Liberty Invitational  

LYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College Men's and Women's Track and Field teams competed at the Liberty University Collegiate Invitational Saturday against various Division I, II and III teams, as well as fellow Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) schools.

Many Hornets qualified for the ODAC championship meet in two weeks in Roanoke, VA. 

On the track, senior Rachad Davis placed first in the 400-meter hurdles with sophomore Brian Fuentes finishing third, running times of 53.90 and 54.78, respectively. Junior Aleshia Washington ran a time of 12.83 in the 100 meter dash. She also competed in the 200 meter where she ran a time of 26.65 which moved her up to third in the ODAC in the event. 

In the field events, freshman Brian O'Dea jumps to the top of the ODAC in the pole vault, clearing a height of 14 feet and 3.25 inches. Junior Linwood Stevens improves his conference ranking in the triple jump with a distance of 13.01 meters (42 feet 8.25 inches). 

The Hornets compete next week in Greensboro, NC at the Aggie Invitational. The Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship meet will be held in Roanoke, VA on April 18-19.
