LC Indoor Track and Field Teams Near Top of Regional Rankings

NEW ORLEANS, LA – With the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships looming this weekend, the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its regional rankings for indoor track and field teams.  Both of the Lynchburg College indoor track and field teams were ranked, with the men third in the South/Southeast Region, and the women coming in at fifth.

On the men's side, the throwers outperformed their competition all winter.  Senior Ralph Davis, junior Eric Van Dunk, and sophomore Greg Wilson have all earned ODAC Athlete of the Week honors this year for their efforts.  In the sprints, Rachad Davis sits in 16th place in the nation for the 60 meter hurdles.

On the women's side, LaCear Hubbard has also been named ODAC Athlete of the Week.  She won two events, and finished second in another event this past weekend.  Thrower Kori Penick earned ODAC Athlete of the Week honors earlier this season as well.  Penick currently sits in first in the conference in the shot put.

Lynchburg College was the highest rated ODAC school in both the men's and the women's rankings.  Both teams will compete in the ODAC Championship meet, this Friday, which will be held at Liberty University.
