LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College women's tennis team won two matches against Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opponent Shenandoah University on Sunday, before being defeated by a score of 7-2 at home.

Senior Betsy Stipa teamed up with junior Melissa Drinkard to take a grueling and long-lasting match at #1 doubles 9-8 (7-5) over Molly Barb and Shannon Allin. The rest of the doubles matches did not go as well, with Kelsey Krisik and Carter Vaughn winning two games at #2 doubles and Madison Dixon and Hailey Bettencourt tallying a game at #3 doubles.

Bettencourt was able to notch a win at #6 singles by default over Caitlin Tilton, while Vaughn played tough at #3 singles, taking six games on the afternoon. Dixon played hard in her match at #4 singles, stretching out to three sets in the 6-1, 3-6, 6-0 loss.

The Hornets (2-7/1-6 ODAC) will look to improve when they take on Bridgewater College in another home match on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in ODAC play.
