The Lynchburg College athletic department each week showcases a question and answer feature with our Hornet of the Week. The twenty-fifthstudent-athlete in this series is sophomore women's tennis player Kelsey Bergen.
Bergen helped LC defeat Ferrum College last week with a #1 singles winning 7-5, 6-3 and picked up a victory in #2 doubles with partner Berry Morse.
What do you like most about LC tennis?
My favorite part is our team in general. Both the men's and women's team have great chemistry with one another. Whether it's a huge win or a loss, we all are very supportive of one another. I also love that we have a great coaching and athletic staff.
What is your favorite thing about LC and this campus?
I love that LC is such a close knit community. Everyone knows one another and it's comforting to be able to walk around campus and see familiar faces.
What are your expectations for the rest of the season?
This year is an improving year for the women's team. We have already had a few wins and we are hoping to keep succeeding as the season progresses.
What are your aspirations after graduation?
After graduation I hope to break into the sports industry. I'm currently a communications major with a minor in sports management, so being able to work in the sports field would be ideal.
