Three Hornet Runners Earn Spots on USTFCCCA All-Academic Team
Women's Team Named One of 106 All Academic Teams

NEW ORLEANS - The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recently announced the All-Academic Teams for the 2010 season, and Lynchburg College was well represented.

A total of 330 student-athletes representing 99 institutions composed the women's USTFCCCA 2010 Division III All-Academic Track & Field team. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and have met either the NCAA Division III indoor or outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard. LC junior Ashley Allen (Richmond, VA/Hermitage) and sophomore Christina Washington (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) were honored from LC.  A total of 202 student-athletes representing 74 institutions composed the men's group, including Hornet graduate student Ricky Flynn (Lynchburg, VA/Damascus).

The Lynchburg College women's team was also named as an All-Academic Team. A total of 106 institutions in Division III earned the distinction as a result of a cumulative GPA of 3.1 or better. The Hornet women boasted a 3.16 team GPA.
