Lynchburg Women's Tennis Ends
2010 Season with 8-1 Loss to SVU
LYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College women's tennis finished their 2010 season on Wednesday, as the Hornets dropped a non-conference battle with Southern Virginia University 8-1 in play from the LC Courts.
The Hornets dropped all three doubles matches, and five of the six singles' flights to the Knights. Lynchburg got its lone win from No. 6 singles player Jeannine Malay (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool), as she won in straight sets two and two. Malay, who had not played organized tennis before this season, won her second consecutive match to finish the year.
Lynchburg finishes its season 0-12 and 0-10 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC). The Hornets also bid farewell to seniors leader and captains Krysten Bishop (Big Rapids, MI/Big Rapids) and Sascha Barrow (West Point, VA/West Point), who played their final LC match this afternoon.
