On January 21st and 22rd 2012, the Lynchburg College Women's Soccer team will host the Lynchburg College Women's Soccer Showcase. The showcase is a 7 vs. 7 plus goalkeepers format. Participants will play in three games, fifty minutes in length on Lynchburg College's Shellenberger Field. College coaches will be invited from the Mid-Atlantic region including the states of Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. College tours will be given by current Lynchburg College Women's Soccer team members. There will also be a College Coaches Panel for a question and answer session held on Saturday afternoon. During this session players, parents, and coaches can ask questions about the recruiting process or college soccer in general. The panel will consist of college coaches from DI, DII, and DIII.
Players may sign up as an individual or with their team. The pre-registration cost for an individual is $70 and the pre-registration cost for a team is $545. The deadline for pre-registration is January 1st, 2012. We will accept registration applications until January 15th with an increase in fees. The individual late registration fee is $80 and the late registration team fee is $585. Players attending the showcase as individuals will be placed on a team of other individuals. The team will be given a current Lynchburg College Women’s Soccer player as a coach for the weekend.
All participants will be given a long sleeve jersey with an assigned number. The assigned numbers will correspond with the numbers printed in the college coach profile books for easy player identification.
In the event that inclement weather causes us to cancel the showcase in part or in whole, partial refunds will be given.

Dimensions: 60 yards wide x 75 yards long
Goal Keeper Box: 20 yards wide x 8 yards long
Format & Rules
Each participant is guaranteed three fifty-minute games with at least one game at Lynchburg College. Players will not need their player cards. Guest players are allowed. Players must sign and turn in medical release forms prior to their first game. The release form is found online at the link above and can be faxed or mailed before arrival for the showcase. Release forms will also be available at check in.
Each team is allowed seven field players plus a goal keeper on the field. Substitutions can be made on the fly. Because this is a showcase scores and goals will not be recorded. This format allows the players to concentrate on playing the game and having a good experience. All kicks are indirect and defenders must stand at least five yards from the ball. There are no offsides and throw-ins are taken when the ball travels over the sideline. Goal keepers are only able to use their hands inside the eight yard box. Punts aren't allowed.
Equipment/Jerseys
Players are assigned numbers and will receive their jerseys at check-in. Shorts & Socks don't have to match their jerseys or their teammates. Players must wear shin guards. This will be strictly enforced.
