Six Hornets Named to 2013-14 All-State Academic Team 

NEWPORT NEWS, VA - The 2013-14 Virginia Sports Information Directors Academic All-State team was released Thursday and contains 226 student-athletes from 38 colleges and universities across Virginia.  To be eligible a student-athlete had to have at least a 3.25 GPA and be a sophomore or higher.


Hornets that made the list were:

Anne Neville Broaddus, Senior, Charlottesville, VA, Elementary Education, Women's Soccer

Ryan Connors, Sophomore, Doylestown, PA, Economics, Men's Lacrosse

Hope Johnson, Junior, Evington, VA, Exercise Physiology, Softball

Catherine Rogerson, Sophomore, Midlothian, VA, Athletic Training, Field Hockey

Rachel Sadowski, Senior, Lewes, DE, Environmental Science, Women's Soccer

Melanie Tenney, Senior, Yorktown, VA, English Literature, Field Hockey/Softball

VaSID is comprised of sports information or athletics communications professionals from intercollegiate institutions throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Membership is open to any individual affiliated with one of the state's institutions at the NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA, USCAA and community college levels, provided that individual's area of responsibility lies within the realm of sports information.
