INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Lynchburg College women's soccer team led all of NCAA Division III this fall in goals scored per game.
As the statistical champion in that category, the Hornet women's soccer program will receive a plaque this spring from the NCAA in recognition of the accomplishment.
The potent LC offensive unit posted 111 goals in just 24 matches, for a 4.63 goals-per game average. St. Scholastica (MN) came in second with an average of 4.45 followed by Penn State Berks and Trinity University (TX) – each with 4.43. Junior forward Dessi Dupuy ranked 11th individually with 23 goals, while sophomore midfielder Jade Woll tied for 15th with 12 assists.
The Hornets ended their season with their fourth-straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference title and a trip to the NCAA tournament. They finished with a 22-2 record while setting the school single-season record for wins, goals, and points.
