Head Coach Enza Steele Goes for Career Win 500 Saturday against York (PA)

LYNCHBURG, VA – Three important home games are on the slate this weekend as Lynchburg College welcomes back alumni, friends, and family of the College for Parents and Family Weekend.

The Hornet field hockey team hosts York College (PA) Saturday at 4 p.m. Head coach Enza Steele will capture career collegiate win 500 with a victory, holding a 499-197-11 record in her 33 seasons. Under Steele, Lynchburg has won 16 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) titles and made 17 NCAA Tournament appearances. Steele has been named ODAC Coach of the Year 10 times, and earned her 400th win at Lynchburg with a 3-2 victory at Washington & Lee University on Oct. 23, 2007.

The Hornets are 4-2 this season, and are aiming to win their eighth-straight ODAC title.

Other games this weekend include a Friday night women's soccer match-up with Roanoke College at 7 p.m. The women's soccer team, ranked #14 in NCAA Division III, is 6-1 overall and 1-0 in the conference, while the Maroons are 2-2-1 and have yet to play in the ODAC.

The LC men's soccer team, fresh off a 2-1 double overtime victory over Salisbury University Wednesday evening, hosts Randolph-Macon College Saturday at 7 p.m. The Yellow Jackets are in 0-1 ODAC play, while it is the conference opener for the Hornets.
