Eight LC Women's Soccer Players Named All-ODAC
LYNCHBURG, VA –The successful season of the Lynchburg women's soccer team that saw an undefeated record and third straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) title, led to eight Hornets being named All-ODAC, including Dessi Dupuy, Shelley Hoath, and Rachel Sadowski on the first team.
The sophomore Dupuy leads the conference and is seventh in NCAA Division III with 24 goals. She is second on the team in points with 54. Hoath has had a big senior season to get named to the first-team. She has six goals, three of which were game-winners. She is third on the team with five assists. Sadowski has played good defense while consistently marking the opponent's best player. She contributed five goals on the season with two game-winners.
Bosco leads the ODAC in points (59) and assists (15). She is also second on the team and in the conference with 22 goals with four game-winners, including one against Averett (17-3). Moore's senior season saw her lead the ODAC in save percentage (.821), goals against (7), and goals against average (.37). In addition, she has six shutouts on the year.
Singer was having a great rookie season for LC before going down with an injury. She had 12 goals and two assists, leaving her third on the team with 26 points. She had a big game against Kenyon netting the game-winner to preserve the unbeaten streak. Nelsen had three goals and four assists while spacing out the defense from her midfield position. Rhodes rounds out the third-team at defender. She often came forward to provide on offense with two goals and four assists.
LC will host the first and second round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday and Sunday. The Hornets host Frostburg State in the first round on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
