Dupuy Doubles Up on ODAC Player of the Week Honors
LYNCHBURG, VA – Lynchburg College sophomore Dessi Dupuy was named as the women's soccer Player of the Week by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) for the second straight week.
Dupuy started the week with a strong performance against Randolph-Macon College. With the Hornets up 1-0, the sophomore from Lynchburg, Virginia got hot, netting four straight goals to give LC the 5-0 victory.
The Hornets were down 2-0 against Roanoke this past Friday when Dupuy sparked the team by scoring a goal early in the second half. That goal was enough to ignite the rest of the team, as the Hornets held Roanoke scoreless the rest of the way, leaving with a 2-2 tie.
Dupuy scored two more times against Salisbury on Sunday to give her a total of seven goals for the week. Her first tally against the Seagulls was the game-winner in the 4-1 match as she took the throw-in, split two defenders and buried it into the back of the net.
The Hornets play Wednesday, October 17 against Hollins University. Game time is 7 p.m. on Shellenberger Field.
