Do It Dupuy! Sophomore Scores in Last Minute
BRIDGEWATER, VA-Lynchburg College women's soccer found itself in another road overtime Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game, this time against Bridgewater. The Hornets struck late in second overtime for a 1-0 win over the Eagles.
With both keepers playing well to keep the opposing team out of the net, sophomore Dessi Dupuy was the first one to find a goal. LC almost ended up with its third tie of the season before Dupuy struck. There was 50 seconds left on the clock when she scored her seventh goal of the season.
The Hornets had multiple opportunities in the second overtime. LC forced Bridgewater (8-4-1/5-2-1 ODAC) keeper Krista Kelly to make two saves in the final ten minutes. Kelly ended with eight saves on the day.
Senior Audrey Moore made five saves in her fourth shutout of the season.
LC outshot Bridgewater (8-4-1/5-2-1 ODAC) 17-12. The Hornets maintained an advantage in corners 13-2.
Lynchburg (11-0-2/5-0-2 ODAC) host Randolph-Macon for a 4 p.m. start on Wednesday, October 10.
