Jessica Gonzalez Scores Twice as LC Women Defeat Maryville 4-0

SALEM, VA – Midfielder Jessica Gonzalez opened her senior season with a bang Friday evening, netting two goals and adding an assist to lead the 15th-ranked Lynchburg College women's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Maryville College (TN). The game was played at the Roanoke College Invitational.

Angela Bosco opened the scoring less than two minutes into the contest and Rachel Sadowski headed in a Gonzalez feed off a corner kick to put LC up 2-0 with just 6:30 expired. Gonzalez scored from Bosco in the 19th minute and added an unassisted tally 15 minutes into the second half.

The Hornet defense limited Maryville to just one shot while LC fired 22. Lynchburg held an 11-0 edge in corner kicks and Audrey Moore and Karsen Schottleutner shared time in net to preserve the shutout.
