LYNCHBURG, VA - Two Lynchburg College athletes were named players of the week by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) for the week of Sept. 27.

Sophomore Lindsay Leonard (Yorktown, VA/Grafton) was named field hockey player of the week due to her two goals against No.1 Messiah Wednesday night. She scored the tying goal with 3:13 left in regulation and the game-winner in overtime which vaulted the Hornets to the win. Leonard also added one goal in the 8-1 win over Frostburg State on Sunday. The win over Messiah improved Lynchburg's national ranking from No. 18 to No. 12.

Senior forward Betsy Kwiatkowski (Mount Jackson, VA/Stonewall Jackson) did most of her damage in the first 17:08 of LC's game Saturday against Emory & Henry. She assisted on Lynchburg's first four goals of the game and added a goal against conference foe Bridgewater last Wednesday.

No. 12 Hornet field hockey will travel to Sweet Briar on Wednesday and women's soccer will be on the road as well to battle Meredith College.
