LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College women's lacrosse team fell just short in overtime on Saturday, dropping a 12-10 decision in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) matchup against Washington & Lee University.

The game contained several runs by both teams and the Generals got started early, with two quick goals from Margaret Klein.  LC answered back, taking advantage of a man-up situation with a goal from Kendall Adkin from a free position shot. Then at 16:14 left in the first period, Carley Dobson evened the score at 2-2. Washington & Lee scored two more goals in the half, before LC went on a 4-0 scoring run to end the period, with tallies from Julie Will, Adkin, and Katie Seidel, making the score 6-4 at the half.

The Generals came out firing in the second half, scoring two quick goals in a row, but the Hornets would answer back with three of their own, all from Bri Slate, furthering LC's lead to 9-6. However, W&L struck back with four-straight goals - the last one coming at 1:01 left in regulation, putting the Generals in the lead at 10-9. The Hornets did not give up though, with Slate firing in a shot with 36 seconds left, bringing the game to a 10-10 tie at the end of regulation.

W&L scored the only two goals in overtime, sealing a 12-10 victory.

Slate led the Hornets in scoring, firing in four second-half goals. Adkin finished the game with three goals of her own, while Dobson had one goal and one assist.
