Hailey Bossert Stops 18 as LC Women's Lacrosse Defeats Randolph-Macon 19-6

LYNCHBURG, VA -  Freshman Hailey Bossert had 18 saves to help propel Lynchburg to a 19-6 win over Randolph-Macon College in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament quarter finals.

Senior Lesley Buckingham led the Hornets with five goals and two assists.  Carley Dobson and Kendall Adkin had four goals each while Sarah Shannon notched two goals.  Bri Slate also tallied two goals and had four assists.  Julie Will and Shannon Brockley added one goal each. 

In the opening minutes, Betsy Hebert scored to give Randolph-Macon a 1-0 advantage. Minutes later Buckingham scored her first of five goals on the day to tie it up.  Lynchburg would never look back and had a 12-3 advantage over the Yellow Jackets at halftime.

In the second half, LC went on a 6-0 run before Kelly Egan scored for Randolph-Macon to make it 18-4.  LC scored seven goals total in the second half, for an eventual 19-6 victory.

Kelly Egan had three goals and Emily Lynch and Rachel Johnsen notched one goal each for Randolph-Macon (8-10).

Julie Will snagged seven ground balls while Buckingham won four draw controls.

Lynchburg (11-6) will host Roanoke College in the ODAC semi-finals on Wednesday on Shellenberger Field at a time to be determined.
