Lesley Buckingham Named ODAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week

LYNCHBURG, VA – Lynchburg College senior attack Lesley Buckingham earned her second Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week award Monday, after capturing the honor on March 5.

Buckingham scored six goals and assisted on five others to break two school records Friday afternoon as Lynchburg defeated Sweet Briar 21-8 in an ODAC matchup.

Buckingham broke the LC program record for most points and goals in a career, both previously held by Donna Hansen '91. In four seasons, Buckingham has 192 goals and 73 assists for 265 points.

She had eight goals and six assists for the week, and also grabbed 11 draw controls.

The Hornets (10-6/7-2 ODAC) enter the six-team ODAC Tournament this week. Seedings and match-ups will be set after the last regular-season game on the schedule, to be played Monday afternoon.
