LC Women's Lacrosse Defeats Hollins 18-1; Stays Undefeated in ODAC

ROANOKE, VA – Utilizing ten different goal-scorers, the Lynchburg College women's lacrosse defeated Hollins University 18-1 keeping LC undefeated in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.

Kendall Adkin led the Hornets with four goals and three assists. Juniors Sarah Shannon and Julie Will each tallied two goals while freshman Katie Seidel had two goals and three assists.  Freshman Alyssa Rossi and junior Carley Dobson each registered one goal and one assist.  Freshman Abby Sard, freshman Shannon Brockley, freshman Ryland Scott and senior Lesley Buckingham all added a goal apiece as well.

Shannon scored the first goal of the game at 28:09 and LC never looked back.  The Hornets would go on a 12-0 run to give them the advantage at halftime.

In the second half, LC went on a 4-0 streak after Erika LaWall scored for Hollins.  LC scored the next six goals in the second half to lead them to a 18-1 victory.

LaWall scored one goal and had five ground balls.  Amanda Duffie-Fritz also had five ground balls for Hollins (1-7/0-3 ODAC).

Shannon grabbed seven ground balls and won four draw controls.

Lynchburg (6-3, 4-0 ODAC) hosts Adrian College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. on Shellenberger Field.
