Hornets Women's Lacrosse Rallies for 20-19 Win over RIT

EDGEWOOD, MD – Junior attack Kendall Adkin scored with 43 seconds left in the game to give the Lynchburg College women's lacrosse team to a 20-19 come-from-behind victory over the Rochester Institute of Technology in a game played at Edgewood High School.

The Tigers opened a 5-0 lead in the early going before LC rallied.

Senior attack Lesley Buckingham scored seven goals and added two assists, while Adkin finished six goals and an assist. Sophomore Bri Slate found the back of the net three times, and junior midfielder Julie Will and freshman midfielder Katie Seidel each had two scores.

Becca Lamspon led RIT (1-1) with seven points on six goals and an assist. Shelby Vakiener added six goals, and Ashleight Caruso added three goals. 

The Hornets (2-1) host Virginia Wesleyan College Saturday at 2 p.m. in LC's Old Dominion Athletic Conference opener.
