Lynchburg College Women's Basketball Hosting Special Olympics on Friday Night
LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College women's basketball team and Special Olympics Virginia are partnering together this Friday night to host two Special Olympics teams to the LC women's basketball game at 7 p.m.
During halftime of the game against cross-town rival Randolph College, Special Olympians from Campbell County and Lynchburg will face off in a half-court basketball game. The athletes will be able to showcase their skills and talents in front of the Lynchburg crowd.
Special Olympics Virginia is a year-round program of sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The organization serves more than 15,000 athletes through seven regional offices and 30 area programs. Special Olympics is also an advocacy organization for people with intellectual disabilities.
