Hornet Women's Basketball September Clinic

In the middle of September the Lynchburg College women's basketball program hosted a basketball clinic in Turner Gymnasium. The team worked together with the City of Lynchburg's local recreation centers to draw young girls and boys for this event.

Mike Preston '98 and former Lynchburg men's basketball player, headed the project for the recreation centers and collaborated with head coach Abby Pyzik and assistant coach Ben Sarraf of the Hornets women's basketball staff.

The clinic lasted just over two hours long and drew over 30 participants. The members of the basketball team enjoyed teaching the young campers about the game of basketball that they themselves are so passionate about. The focus was on fundamentals with a strong emphasis on the first three letters of the word. FUN!
The first hour was composed of working with developing the skills of ball handling, passing, and shooting. The camp concluded with an hour of games that included relay races, dribble tag, and king of the court.

The women's basketball program is excited to continue to have a strong impact on its Lynchburg community and to continue this tradition of service.
