USTFCCCA Places Lynchburg Men's Cross Country at Top of Region

NEW ORLEANS, LA – The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the preseason regional rankings on Tuesday, and the Lynchburg College men's cross country team found itself on top of the South/Southeast Region.  Emory University was picked second, with Centre College and Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) foe Bridgewater College ranked third and fourth respectively.

LC won the South/Southeast Regional in 2011 for the second-straight year and for the sixth time in school history.  Lynchburg then advanced to the national meet for the third-straight time.  The Hornets will also be looking for a fifth ODAC title in a row this fall.

LC opens up the 2012 campaign on August 31, at the Eastern Mennonite University Invitational in Penn Laird, Virginia with the meet starting at 6 p.m.
