2010: Placed 6th out of 56 at the Randolph College Invitational with a finished time of 29:32…placed 3rd out of 85 at the ODAC Championship with a finished time of 26:20…placed 11th at the Virginia Meet with a finished time of 25:57.92
2009: Won the Blue Ridge Open by trekking the course in 26:32 ... had a season best time of 25:49 to place 33rd at the Paul Short Invitational ... finish ninth in the ODAC Championship at 28:13 to earn Second-Team All-ODAC honors ... placed fifth at the Elon Invitational after running a 26:23 ... 13th at the Virginia Wesleyan Invite in 28:58 ... placed 26th at the NCAA Regional meet in a time of 28:25.
2008: Had a breakout season for the Hornets as a sophomore . . . ran a 28:37 for LC in the Blue Marlins Invitational, placing 16th . . . was LC's top finisher at the Madison-Kiwanis CC Invite, taking home 26th place with a time of 27:11 . . . again led LC at the JMU Open Invitational, crossing the line in 26:52 for 16th place . . . sparkled at the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational, taking home ninth place on the long course, running the 8K course in 26:32 . . . came in ninth place at the Pre-NCAA South/SE Regional meet, booking a 26:23 . . . was the top Hornet finisher at the Gettysburg Invitational, garnering 20th place in 26:27 . . . scored for LC in the ODAC Championships, running a 26:31 for 18th place . . . finished 18th at the 2008 Regional meet in San Antonio, TX, recording a time of 26:29.
2007: Could not compete due to a leg injury.
Before LC: Was a member of the Midland Park cross country team.
Personal: Son of David and Debbie Van Alstine . . . has three sisters . . . also on the Lynchburg track team.
