Sippie and Ohrem Earn ODAC Weekly Honors

FOREST, VA – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released its weekly honors on Monday, and two LC athletes found themselves on the list.  Men's track and field sprinter Tom Sippie and men's lacrosse attack Pat Ohrem were selected for their performances this past week.

Sippie had an impressive first outdoor meet in his Lynchburg career.  He was part of the 4x100 meter relay team that finished first in a time of 43.16.  Sippie then ran in the 200 and 400 meter races.  He was second in the 200 at 21.81 and third in the 400 at 49.17.  His time in the 200 is currently the fifth-best in the nation, and Sippie is seventh nationally in the 400.  For the meet, Lynchburg finished second with 92 points behind Division II Kutztown.  Sippie contributed 14 individually and 10 more came in the relay.

Ohrem was instrumental in the Hornets going 2-0 last week.  Against McDaniel, Ohrem scored an important goal and added an assist later in the game, to help LC secure the 5-4 win.  In the win over Guilford, he registered his second hat-trick of the season.  Once again he assisted on another goal as well.  For the week he also grabbed five groundballs and only missed the back of the cage on two of his shots.

Both teams will be back in action this weekend with each squad heading to Bridgewater College for separate events.
