Sippie Named ITF Athlete of the Week

FOREST, VA – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) office released the weekly Athletes of the Week winners, and men's indoor track and field sprinter Tom Sippie found himself honored for his efforts this past weekend.

LC went to New York City and The Armory, one of the most famous indoor facilities in the country, for the Lafayette/Rider Winter Games last Friday.  Sippie ran in both the 200 meter and 400 meter races.  He set career and conferences bests with both finishes.  In the 200, Sippie finished at 22.95, and was the third-best Division III runner in the event.  He topped that in the 400, finishing second among D-III runners, coming in at 50.70.

The freshman and the rest of the Hornets will be back in action this Wednesday at Wake Field House.  LC will host the Sprint, Jumps, Throws Challenge Part II, with events beginning at 5 p.m.
