Davis Named ITF ODAC Athlete of the Week

FOREST, VA—The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released its weekly honors on Tuesday, and Lynchburg College's Rachad Davis was named athlete of the week in men's indoor track and field.

In the season opening meet at the Liberty Kickoff and Multi, Davis continued where he left off last year in the 60 meter hurdles.  The defending ODAC champion, Davis qualified fourth in the same event at the Tolsma Indoor Track Center.  He then ran the final in 8.51, taking third place, with two Division II members finishing ahead of him.

Davis then set a career best in the indoor 200 meter dash, with a time of 23.33.  He was the top Division III finisher in the event.  In Davis' last event, he combined with Tom Sippie, Curtis Whitlow, and Tristan Boysaw to run the 4x400 meter relay in 3:31.29, which was good for second overall.

Davis and the rest of the indoor track and field teams will be off until January 25 and 26, as they head across town again for the Liberty Open.
