Bell to Compete at Nationals

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Lynchburg College men's track and field athlete James Bell will be competing in his second straight National Championship Meet, as released by the NCAA on Sunday.  The NCAA committee accepted the top 20 declared athletes in every event.

Bell qualified for the decathlon for the second consecutive year after accumulating 6578 points at the Lynchburg College Open Multi-Event.  The total was the fourth highest among Division III athletes this year.  Last year, Bell finished eighth in the decathlon to earn his first All-American honor.

Bell and all other qualified athletes will be headed to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in California for the three-day event beginning on Thursday.
