Hornet Track Competes at Liberty and ETSU

LYNCHBURG, VA and JOHNSON CITY, TN – The Lynchburg College men's and women's indoor track teams sent competitors to both the Liberty University Kickoff Invitational and the East Tennessee State University Niswonger Invitational Saturday.

At Liberty, Eric Van Dunk moved into third place on the LC all-time list in the shot put after a heave of 49'05 ½". Jared Bloomquist leaped 6'04 ¼" in the high jump and Nathan Curtis cleared 12'09 ½" in the pole vault. Rachad Davis reached the finals in the 60-meter hurdles, running a 8.59.

Jasmyne Johnson led the Hornet women at Liberty, finishing the 400-meter dash in 1:02.57. Alesha Washington finished the 60-meter dash in 8.24 and Katie Kline cleared 7'10 ½" in the pole vault.

Cody Stanton ran a lifetime best of 15:39 in the 5k at ETSU. Larry Minor finished the 15:58 in the 1,600 and Nolan Compton ran the mile in 4:28.

The Hornets travel to the University of North Carolina University next Saturday.
