Hornets Compete at High Point

HIGH POINT, NC – The Lynchburg College outdoor track and field team had a few notable performances Sunday at the third annual VertKlasse Meet, hosted by High Point University.
Senior Ashley Allen broke her own school record in the hammer with a heave of 163' 7 ½". She also betters her provisional qualifying distance in the event and now ranks 17th in NCAA Division III. Fellow senior Krystle Landes had a toss of 132'4 ½" in the javelin, also bettering her provisional qualifying distance. She now ranks 18th in the nation.
For the LC men, James Bell cleared 15'5" in the pole vault and John Michael Pavia threw 51.52 meters in the hammer.
Lynchburg competes in the Old Dominion Athletic conference Outdoor Championship Meet next Friday and Saturday at Roanoke College.
