Hornet Men Defeated by Eagles 8-1

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men's tennis team lost 8-1 to Bridgewater College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play at home on Tuesday. 

Junior Tayler Tepper picked up the lone win for the Hornets, taking a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Kyle Bowers at #6 singles. Senior Matt Karvelas fought hard at #1 singles and was able to win a set, but was eventually defeated by Branden Larsen 6-4, 4-6, 7-5. Sophomore Tyler Long played well at the #5 singles spot, winning the second set before losing a tough 6-3, 5-7, (10-5) match against Aaron Snook. 

Karvelas and freshman Andrew Link teamed up at #1 doubles and were able to win four games. Long and sophomore Josh Johnson won two games at #2 doubles, while Tepper and freshman Noah Stewart took two at the #3 doubles spot.

 LC (0-8/0-7 ODAC) will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to take on ODAC opponent Roanoke College at 3 p.m.
