Hornet Men Defeated 8-1 by Emory & Henry

EMORY, VA – The Lynchburg College men's tennis team traveled to Emory on Saturday to face the Wasps of Emory & Henry College and lost 8-1.

Matt Karvelas competed at #1 singles and willed his way to a tough 6-7(7-3), 7-6(7-0), 12-10 win over James Keighley.

Derek Kegerreis was able to capture three games in the first set at #2 singles, while Owen Landon won one game in the first set and three in the second at #4 singles. Tyler Long competed at #5 singles, taking two games in the first set and two in the second as well.

The Hornets (3-5/1-5 ODAC) will be back in action on Tuesday at home when they will face Greensboro in a non-conference matchup at 3:00 p.m.
