LC Men Drop Close Match to Greensboro 5-4

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men's tennis team faced off against non-conference opponent Greensboro College at home on Tuesday and lost 5-4.

Derek Kegerreis and Owen Landon were successful at #1 doubles, capturing an 8-6 win, while Josh Johnson and Blake Underwood were able to win five games at #2 doubles.

Matt Karvelas competed and won at #1 singles, taking the first set 6-0, before Zach Passman would retire, giving Karvelas the second set by default. Kegerreis also participated at #2 singles, grabbing a decisive 6-4, 6-0 victory. Josh Johnson played well at #3 singles, winning six games overall, while Landon was able to win seven games at #4 singles. Tyler Long battled at #5 singles, and captured a tough 6-7(6-10), 6-4, 10-7 win over Matt Moscatello.

The Hornets (3-6/1-5 ODAC) will compete at home again on Saturday when they will face off against Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opponent Guilford College at 9:00 a.m.
