Helen Smith Resigns as LC Tennis Coach

LYNCHBURG, VA – Lynchburg College head men's and women's tennis coach Helen Smith announced Tuesday that she is resigning from both positions, effective immediately. She is stepping down to take a position in the private sector.

Smith led the Hornet tennis squads for the last five years. She graduated from Lynchburg in 1980 with a degree in accounting after playing for four seasons on the Hornet tennis squad, two as captain.

"We wish Helen the best of luck in her pursuits," said LC director of athletics, Dr. Jack Toms. "We hope to name an interim replacement soon to guide the tennis teams the remainder of the semester."
