Hornets Battle the Elements; Defeat R-MC 3-0

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men's soccer team competed against Randolph-Macon College in their first Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) bout of the year on Saturday and won 3-0.

The Hornet men got on the board early after junior Luke Moore tapped a ball into the goal off of an assist by senior Chaz Ashton at 15:13 in the first half. The rest of the half went scoreless, but LC advanced its lead to 2-0 after Moore added his second goal of the night coming from an assist by sophomore Earl Rimbey at 60:30 in the second.

The Hornets continued to be the aggressor throughout the rest of the match, with freshman Adam Reynolds firing in a goal assisted by freshman Chad Hobson at 89:46 to end the game with a 3-0 Hornet victory.

Senior Jonathan Sheffield played a scoreless 90 minutes for the Hornets, saving five balls, including three clutch saves in the second half. Lee Loudermilk recorded five saves in goal for the Yellow Jackets.

Lynchburg (3-2-1/1-0 ODAC) will be back in action on Wednesday, September 25 when they will travel to face Christopher Newport University in a non-conference matchup at 7:00 p.m.
