LC Men's Soccer Falls 3-0 to H-SC

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men's soccer team lost to Hampden-Sydney College 3-0 on Wednesday night.  The Hornet's loss was the first for them in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play this season.

In the first half, the best opportunity went to LC.  Zach Miller fired a shot from outside of the box which was deflected by a Tiger out of bounds.  Michael Venegas sent the ensuing corner kick off the far post, just barely missing the net.  The half would end scoreless, with Lynchburg outshooting H-SC 12-5.

However, the Tigers would come out blazing in the second.  At the 48:12 mark, Robert Stephens sent a through ball to Nick DeProspero.  DeProspero beat Michael Releford to the far post for the first goal of the game.  Less than seven minutes later, Stephens would add a tally of his own off a throw-in from Jackson Parker.  Stephens finished off the scoring, beating Releford in a one-on-one situation.

Blake Carrey made four saves for Hampden-Sydney (4-9 overall, 3-4 ODAC) on the night.  Releford made five saves for Lynchburg.  The Hornets outshot the Tigers 26-13 and earned 14 corner kicks to only one for H-SC.

LC (3-6-4, 2-1-4) continues its ODAC schedule with a game at Eastern Mennonite University on Saturday.  First kick in Harrisonburg is set for 7:30 p.m.
