Aaron Murphy Named ODAC Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week

FOREST, VA – Lynchburg College sophomore attack Aaron Murphy was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the week of March 17.

Murphy, from Downington, PA, helped the 12th-ranked Hornets to a 2-0 week that included a 15-7 win over Guilford College and a 10-9 triumph over Colorado College. Against GC, Murphy scored five times including one man-up tally. He followed that with three goals Sunday against Colorado College. He also had three ground balls in that contest. Murphy has scored 13 goals this season and is sixth in the ODAC with 23 points and 10 assists.

The Hornets (4-2), ranked #9 in this week's USILA top 20 poll, face a very tough challenge next week, heading to the first-ever Mid-Season Classic, which pits North Region teams against South Region teams. Lynchburg will play SUNY-Cortland in Owings Mills, MD at 5 p.m. on Friday and then take on Nazareth College at the same time on Saturday.  All four teams, including host Stevenson University, are either ranked or receiving votes in the latest USILA poll.
