Hornet Men's Lax Breeze to 25-6 Win over Guilford

GREENSBORO, NC – The eighth-ranked Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team scored early and often Saturday evening in a 25-6 victory at Guilford College in LC's Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opener.

The Hornets scored 15 times in the first half, three each from Austin Stewart and Pat Ohrem. After leading 15-2 at intermission, LC tacked on seven scores in the third period and three more in the fourth. The Hornets out-shot the Quakers 60-32 for the game, including 42-8 in the first half.

Aaron Murphy joined Stewart and Ohrem with a hat trick of his own, and Charlie Oldendorp and Max Voumard each scored twice with an assist. Chance Smith found the back of the net twice, Campbell Armstrong posted a goal and three assists and Vin Curran had a goal and two assists. Jacob Fuller contributed a goal and an assist and Dane Angell, Derek Sweet, Chris Hower, Max Kelly, Jay Goldsmith, Tyler Bringman and Chris Cornelius also scored for LC.

Duncan Fitzgerald led five scorers for Guilford (4-3/0-1 ODAC) with two goals and an assist. Connor Manning won 14 of his 25 face-off attempts for the Quakers.

Lynchburg (6-1/1-0) travels to Bridgewater College next Sunday, March 24 for another ODAC game at 1 p.m.
