Lynchburg Men's Lacrosse to Host Scrimmage Against University of Virginia

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team will again host the University of Virginia this fall in a scrimmage on Shellenberger Field. Virginia, the 2011 Division I NCAA Champion, also came to Lynchburg for a scrimmage last fall against the Hornets, which turned out to be a highly competitive affair, viewed by an estimated 3,000 fans.

This year's scrimmage is scheduled to take place Thursday, September 27 at 7 p.m.

"The game last year was a great night for lacrosse in the Lynchburg community and obviously being able to host them again this fall should be another wonderful experience," said Hornet head coach Steve Koudelka.

Last year, Lynchburg was ranked as high as No.3 in the nation and finished the season with a 17-2 overall record. The Hornets won the Old Dominion Athletic Conference title and finished the season unbeaten against conference foes.
