Hoff Paces Hornets with Five Goals as LC Men's Lacrosse Defeats Washington & Lee

LYNCHBURG, VA – Senior Dylan Hoff scored a team-high five goals leading the Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team in a 12-4 victory over Washington & Lee University in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.

Senior Andrew Wilfong scored three times while senior Ben Sauer added two. Junior Pat Ohrem and sophomore Ryan Greenhill each found the back of the net as well. Wilfong and Ohrem each had two assists in the contest.

Each team traded two goals each early in the first quarter, until Hoff put LC up 3-2 at the 5:12 mark. Lynchburg then scored the next eight goals, spanning the rest of the half for an 11-2 lead at halftime.

W&L's Scott Meehan registered a goal at 10:47 of the third quarter to make it 12-3 before Wilfong added his third of the day at 3:10 remaining in the period. Jack Reuter added a goal for the Generals at 11:17 of the fourth, but Lynchburg kept Washington & Lee at bay for a 12-4 victory.

For the game, the Hornets were 18-23 on clear attempts and 2-4 on extra-man opportunities. LC forced 23 turnovers from the Generals and scooped 29 ground balls.

Junior Joseph Lisicky caused six turnovers in the game and registered six ground balls. Senior goalie Franc Cook made 10 saves and tallied five ground balls. 

Patrick Jennings made three saves in net, while Warren Berenis made five saves in relief for Washington & Lee (5-5/1-2 ODAC).

Lynchburg (8-1/2-0 ODAC) heads to Washington D.C. on Wednesday to play Ursinus College at Georgetown University at 7 p.m.
