ASHLAND, VA - Six Lynchburg College student-athletes were recently named to the 2010 Men's Lacrosse College Division All-State team, as voted on by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID). Hornet freshman Max Voumard (pictured left - Cape May, NJ/St. Augustine Prep) earned Rookie of the Year honors, while Kyle Jett of Hampden-Sydney College and Bill Pilat of Roanoke College took home Player and Coach of the Year honors, respectively.

Voumard, a midfielder, came on strong as the season progressed. He tallied 22 goals and seven assists for the year, and had a four-game stretch in midseason where he posted nine goals, all against conference foes.

Seniors Ethan Farrell (Nantucket, MA/Nantucket) and Shane Roscher (Centreville, VA/Westfield) were selected on the first-team.  Farrell, an All-American midfielder, finished second this season on the squad in goals (31), assists (17) and points (48). He is also second on the squad with 57 ground balls and has scored nine times in man-up situations.  Roscher, a defender started all 18 games and led the team with 20 caused turnovers and also scooped 17 ground balls. Dylan Hoff (Chester Springs, PA/Downington East), Eddie Bilinkas (Randolph, NJ/Randolph), Ryan Butler (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) and Voumard all earned spots on the All-State second-team. Hoff, a sophomore attack, led the team with 40 goals and 26 assists for 66 points, ranking in the top seven in the conference in all three categories. Bilinkas, a junior midfielder, scored 19 goals with 12 assists, and has also grabbed 22 ground balls.  Butler, a senior defender, helped Roscher form a formidable backline and corralled 22 ground balls.
